Woman finds her dog alive after tornado destroys residential area
On December 10, 2021, a tornado hit Kentucky and resulted in what has been called “one of the toughest nights in Kentucky history.”
Tornadoes devastated many homes and turned the city of Mayfield, Kentucky. People lost their lives in the chaos, and survivors had to deal with the aftermath of the storm.
Many return to their razed homes in search of missing family members, personal items and missing pets.
While many people are mourning for what they got back home, a woman is singing praises after finding her dog in the wake of a tornado.
While a news reporter was surveying the damage of a Mayfield neighborhood affected by the tornado, the woman walked over and asked if they had seen a dog. She explained that she was at home with her dog when the tornado hit.
She said, “The power went out. The house began to shake. We were lifted, that’s when we lost the dog… When we finally landed, we were surrounded by gas lines and power lines.”
She said her house had moved about 20 feet, and after surviving the mess, she was unable to find her beloved dog, Nola.
After passing a few dilapidated houses, the reporter noticed movement and pointed out a dog. It’s Nola!
The woman can be seen sprinting to the dog, calling its name. The reunion was special and a good reminder to never take our loved ones (including our pets) for granted.
