Why the potential hire of Rick Spielman is a good thing for Doug Pederson in his search for a Jaguars coach
Jacksonville’s game of musical chairs continues.
The Jaguars’ search for a coach is going as well as you’d expect: While Byron Leftwich was the reported lead in mid-January, the team is still in disarray when it comes to its next boss, interview nine candidates with some already taking the job. in other place.
Now, it seems that Doug Pederson could be the club’s next head coach – should some previous office scuffle happen.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports that there could be more changes to the Jaguars’ main office – but not to Trent Baalke, the incumbent general manager, who appears to be weeding out candidates. Jacksonville is looking to hire former “GM” Rick Spielman instead for a senior office role, the group president said.
Baalke will remain as GM, reports to Spielman.

I understand Spielman is not interviewing for the GM position. So Baalke is likely to stay. Knowing that probably won’t soothe you, but it will ease candidates who are concerned about Baalke.
