Why do humans lose the race with super bugs?

MRSA, described above in yellow and surrounded by cellular debris, is the name of a staph bacteria that is resistant to treatment with many common antibiotics.  The image is from a scanning electron microscope image.  MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

A new report in Fingertips found that in 2019, antibiotic-resistant bacteria killed 1.2 million people – more than ever from malaria or HIV/AIDS. The problem is growing in lower-income countries.
