Where to buy Martian Halloween Candy Recycle Bag | FN Dish – Behind the scenes, Food Trends and Best Recipes: Food Network
As you sit in front of an empty snack bag with a pile of leftover candy wrappers piled up in front of you and look shamelessly pleased, environmental concerns about tossing those wrappers in the bin Garbage may not be at the top of your list of things, but they probably deserve a spot somewhere.
Research shows that most of the wrappers from 600 million pounds of candy purchased in the United States each Halloween season ends up in landfills, due to the inadequacy of curbside recycling programs. Mars Wrigley — the giant behind candy-bag staples like Twix, Snickers, M&M’s and Skittles — is now offering a solution to the waste problem this Halloween.
Mars has partnered with Rubicon Technologies, a digital waste and recycling solutions company, to dispose of waste wrapped with specially designed, recyclable disposal or disposal bags. As an expansion of Rubicon’s existing Trick-or-Trash program, the partnership will provide free bags for Halloween fans.
Each bag comes with a prepaid postage stamp and simple three-step instructions: Use it to get your Halloween candy. After you’ve eaten your candy (if you’re like us, it shouldn’t take long), put all the empty wrappers back in the bag. Then, seal the bag full of wrapping paper, drop it in a USPS box or at the post office, and send it off to be properly recycled for future use.
The bag features an attractive candy-wrap design and is made from raw, raw, recyclable bioplastics.
“Mars, and our iconic brand line, put the consumer at the heart of everything we do, especially during our biggest moments like Halloween,” said Tim LeBel, Halloween director and president of sales at Mars Wrigley, said in a Press Release. “This year, our Halloween leadership underscores Mars’ commitment to a healthy planet by providing a simple way to reduce packaging waste with a Trash Bag or Mars Tricks. and Rubicon.”
Rubicon President and CEO Nate Morris said his company shares Mars’ commitment to sustainable solutions. “We know that working with a wide range of partners across industries is essential to getting as much waste out of landfills as possible and we are proud to partner with Mars, the global leader during the Halloween season and someone who has shown a strong commitment to protecting Morris adds.
So, how can you get your hands on one of these free recycling bags so you can predict the feeling of happiness even as you wrap a billion bazillion-sized chocolate bar? First drop of Trick or Trash bag online offer in early October sold out in just one day. The second drop, earlier this week, sold out in less than an hour. But fear not! A spokesperson for Mars Wrigley told Food Network that the company is getting ready to drop another batch of bags on Thursday, October 27. That’s right… great!
The exact time is yet to be revealed, so be sure to keep checking Halloween.Mars.com if you want to get a free bag.
