Lately, I get a lot of questions about how, when, and why I change my decor.
After spending almost a decade crafting bright mid-century modern rooms with a LOT of pink, I understand where all these questions are coming from. Today, I am here with the answer!
My current inspiration list:
-Movie
I am very inspired by the movie. I haven’t seen that many movies in the last decade, but over the past few years I’ve probably watched 10 years.
My husband and I watch a lot of old horror movies, including incredible house inspiration.
I also did a tough one on Nancy Meyers and Nora Ephron. Those movies are full of beautiful (mostly historic) houses with cozy touches.
I am also completely obsessed with the word house Pull out the knife, Clueand some parts of Harry Potter (like pictures that have become doors). Basically anything that is a hidden door, a nook, or a hidden bar. Anything in this category caught my attention.
-Musical House
Mine Personal Pinterest mostly filled with old houses and random holiday stuff. Old Houses has been one of my deep dive spots for the past few years. I love learning more about historic design and also modern design inspired by history.
Traditional and historic is a category that I never thought of until we were home shopping (several years ago) and we toured some amazing historic homes.
Loving a few old houses, I imagined how I could alter my style to match that aesthetic, and the rest is history!
-But the book
I am absolutely obsessed with collecting vintage things like mirrors, picture frames, and old books. These haunts are taking center stage in my current home decor.

Do you miss your old house/style?
I get this question a lot, and first of all, I have to say it’s so kind and flattering that a lot of you missed out. my old house. We’ve spent years of our lives fixing it, and of course we’re super attached to it!
I have nostalgic moments and I’m so grateful I’m a blogger who takes so many photos of home that I can look back on.
To answer the question — no, I don’t remember our old house anymore and I don’t remember our old style. I am enjoying our new home and current life. I’m happy to try a new style and try to explain it to myself.
How did you have such a drastic style change?
I will always be influenced by the house I live in. I think when you move into a house with a very different style, the way you decorate it Candlestick different. That makes the most sense to me. There is no “perfect” way to decorate a home; instead, there are countless options for inspirational ideas.
I hope that if I ever had 10 different house decorating projects, each house would be a little different and each project would take on its own life and style.
Now that I’ve blogged for most of my adult life, I feel comfortable when people see how dramatically I’ve changed. In fact, that’s what I’m proud of.
