What credit score do you need for the Amex Blue Cash Preferred?

Request a credit score for Blue Cash Preferred

No specific credit score is required to be approved for Prioritize green cash. Like other issuers, Amex considers a number of factors to make approval decisions. So there is a certain credit score will not automatically mean you will be approved for a card.

What other factors affect credit card approval?

While your credit score is an important factor issuers consider when determining whether you’ll be approved for a credit card, it’s not the only thing they consider. Credit card issuers do not share a complete list of factors or how each factor affects approval, but below are some general things that credit card issuers will consider:

This is certainly not an exhaustive list of factors – some issuers will take into account existing customer relationships and more when considering whether to approve you for a new card. Remember that requirements issuers are often looking to change depending on the economy and other external factors you may not have control over.

Bottom line

If you’ve determined that the Amex Blue Cash Preferred card would be a good addition to your wallet and you have a good to excellent credit score, you may be more likely to be approved. This doesn’t mean you necessarily need a 670 credit score to be approved, nor does it guarantee that those with scores above 700 will qualify for the card.
