Game

What are we all going to play this weekend?

I think I’ve found a way to improve the heating and cooling efficiency of my apartment throughout the year by offering seasonal game selections. In the summer I should be playing classic games, games a modern PC can run without even realizing it, my silicone pad is very cold. As fall kicks in, I’ll be playing more demanding games, games that put a lot of strain on my CPU and GPU, giving off more heat. Then, in the depths of winter, I’ll find the ugliest “HD” ReShade presets and texture pack I can find, burning this tower. But anyway, what will you play this weekend?

This weekend, I’m determined to make another crack at Encode. I’ll find this bastard, either by hook or by crook (probably a crook, if we read ‘crook’ which means ‘look up a manual online’). The other day, I defeated the first boss alone, so I have hope.

I like to methodically wash the Palisade bank in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided long before any quests send me there, so now it’s continuing with the plot!

Explosions shot non-stop. I’ll pass Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042multiplayer mode. And if I have time, I can drift back to Mexico in Forza Horizon 5. I hope there is a suitable normal car to start the proceedings. After all, supercars are dull.

Let’s come
After a busy week in Vanguard’s multiplayer, I wanted to jump into something a little less chaotic. I’m eager for Jurassic World Evolution 2 one go, but I also hope to complete Psychonauts 2 this weekend. Of course, I’ll really just be playing a lot of Battlefield 2042, which I look forward to trying again after the final beta. In addition to the games, we’re putting up the Christmas tree this weekend, which means lots of cupcakes and hot chocolate. It really is the most wonderful time of the year.

Not many video games for me this weekend because instead, I have friends to buy stuff on the table. I’m running what will hopefully be the end of the Deadlands campaign, though that depends on whether my cowboys can figure out who the Big Bad is. They had already killed the sheriff of the town they were in, so they certainly couldn’t have done any worse.

Parp parp!

I’ll be playing Forza Horizon 5 while fighting my father’s urge to adopt it Unwanted Jeep scores.

I started playing Door of death this week and, cor (caw?), it’s a good video game, isn’t it? I’m about 2/3 of the way through Acid Nerve’s crows, so I’m hoping to finish that this weekend before moving on. Dungeon Encounters formerly. I’m curious to see how it goes with its bare-bones visuals and intense dungeon crawling combat system.

I’m going to try really hard to make time to start playing Forza Horizon 5, for two reasons. A: because it looks so shiny. And two: because it takes up over 100GB on my PC, so I feel like I owe it to my machine to play it right now. Unfortunately I can’t promise I’ll have time, as I’ll be pretty busy with Battlefield 2042 Early Access this weekend! The last Battlefield that I played properly was – get ready for this – Battlefield Vietnam, back in 2004. It’s come a long way, and I still have a lot to learn.

This weekend is my first time visiting home in a few months, so other than getting my Switch ready for the trip, I might not be playing games much. That said, it’s still basically Halloween, so I was hoping to convince my parents to play a horror game with me. We have a bit of a tradition of playing the latest Supermassive in the spooky season, but since we couldn’t see each other last year, they still need to catch up. Little hope before we can start House Of Ashes.

But you, dear reader, what are you playing this weekend?
