“I’m sure, like many others, we’ve been thinking for months about where to get married. We love the idea of going abroad. A castle in the south of France? Great! A traditional Italian church service, then a traditional Italian party? We wanted somewhere where our guests didn’t have to pay the price of land, somewhere fun and photogenic, so the ceremony was going to be at Marylebone Town Hall. , I was initially obsessed with having a site with exposed drywall and old fireplaces. We looked at so many beautiful sites that fit these criteria—The Brunswick House, Sessions . Art Club, underneath Stone Nest and Clapton Country Club—but ultimately, they fall short of capacity, cost, or shipping time. (We want a party past midnight—sue us!)
“Then we looked at Institute of Contemporary Art in Pall Mall, and it blew us away. No, it doesn’t have exposed plaster, but it does have a balcony overlooking St James’s Park. We could get permits until 2 a.m., and there was a garden that we rented for the reception. This is apparently also one of the only places where you’re allowed to light candles. Big win. Then we would continue the party the next day at the Cotswolds in my parents’ garden, with a blessing at the village church.
