Watch King Charles, Anne, Edward & Andrew Unite for the Queen’s Procession
Queen Elizabeth IITheir four children are standing united to mourn the passing of their mother.
On September 12, King Charles III, Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Prince Andrew walked together after the procession of the late king’s coffin from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the Church of St. Giles on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The brothers quietly walked behind the hearse as they carried the Queen’s flag-covered coffin to the church for a thanksgiving service to commemorate her 70 years of historic reign.
Charles, Anne and Edward all wore military uniforms during the procession. However, Andrew was wearing a suit. The Navy veteran was banned from wearing his military clothing until his mother’s final vows at Westminster Hall because he was a non-working member of the royal family.
In January, Andrew was stripped of his right to military association and Royal patronage by the Queen after being Virginia Giuffre, who alleges that the Duke of York sexually abused her when she was 17. (In a 2019 interview with BBCAndrew denied Virginia’s sexual assault allegations, and in February 2022, Andrew and Virginia settled out of court.)
