The billboard queen of Los Angeles is finally on the screen near you.
Peacock just announced that Angelyne—A highly anticipated limited series starring the actors Emmy Rossum like the golden bomb of the same name — will officially hit the streaming service on Thursday, May 19. Focusing on her popularity, the show chronicles how Angelynehalo in the dark queen, took over LA after plastering her portraits on billboards across the city and driving around in what eventually became known as her signature pink Corvette.
Rossum is almost unrecognizable as a real-life character in the trailer below, which shows her jumping into Angelyne’s famous car and speeding into the unknown, but not before asking the audience, “Do you really want to know my story – my story of life?”
“The trick is,” she continued, “I’m something you have to experience. I’m Angelyne.”
In a press release, Rossum said the new series, on which she’s spent the better part of four years, “plays with big questions,” such as, “Are we defined by historical truths?” history of our lives? Or can we define our own?”
