It is only a matter of time before the battle to protect humanity reaches new battlefields. Starting May 2, World of Tanks Modern Armor players will battle against Orks and the forces of Chaos in the brand new Warhammer 40,000 event on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
This Imperium-scale event features incredible content to transport players into the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Five new tanks, two new 3D Hero Commanders with exclusive voiceovers, and a limited-time community event are all available for those who swear to protect the Emperor.

Five new tanks will be available in the Warhammer 40,000 event:

“The most challenging aspect is honesty,” says Burr. “Warhammer’s 40,000 Tanks and Commanders are very detailed and getting those details right required a lot of work and a lot of communication with our partners at Games Workshop.”
Leading the effort to realistically recreate these tanks for the 20th century battlefield is Andy Dorizas, World of Tanks Modern Armor Artistic Director. However, Dorizas is quick to admit that this is not one man’s duty. “Commanders and Tanks was a large team project that spanned four continents and took several months,” he said. “40,000 Warhammer tanks is really an exercise in precision.”
A special part of the challenge was recreating the Leman Russ, Astra Militrum’s main battle tank. As a World of Tanks Modern Armor-specific tank and not found in other World of Tanks games, it requires a certain amount of creativity.
Dorizas explains: “We have carefully studied the physical tank so that it is highly accurate. “We then had the artists translate our concepts into usable geometry for our game. After we got the model for the Leman Russ battle tank, we then painted the tank to match its most iconic colors from the universe, just as fans of their models still do. do it every day.”
But Dorizas and the team didn’t stop there. “Of course, we added a lot of detail and wear to make the tank look… more combative. Our dedicated tank artists assembled it using our special tracking system, the designers added World of Tanks special collision and balance parameters, and bam. You can drive the Leman Russ in our game.”

Every ground-destroying vehicle needs a formidable fighter. Players available for the event are two new 3D Hero Commanders, fighting in the name of the Emperor: Volusad Thassius of the Ultramarines and Patricia Laserian of the Sisters of Battle.

The voiceover guide for this project is Jason “Jay” Baughan, a game industry veteran who has previously directed the voiceover. includes LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. “It’s all about authenticity and creating an immersive experience for Warhammer 40,000 fans,” Baughan said. “Working with Warhammer 40,000 realistic veteran voice acting, I think we got there.”
Baughan and voice talent have recorded over 300 unique lines for each Commander. Result?
