Walt Nauta, Donald Trump aide, pleads not guilty in documentary case: NPR

MIAMI – An aide to former President Trump, Walt Nauta has pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he conspired with Trump to withhold classified documents.
Nauta face, with Trumpfive counts of concealing or withholding documents and participating in a conspiracy to obstruct justice, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. Federal indictment Allegations that Nauta shipped dozens of boxes of classified documents at Trump’s direction at Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s home in Palm Beach, Fla., and then lied to federal investigators about it.
Nauta is a Navy veteran who began working in the White House and later served as a servant for then-President Trump. After Trump left office, Nauta left the Navy and began working for the former President.
This is the third time his arrangement has been scheduled. Nauta asked to postpone his first appearance because he did not have a local attorney yet (Sasha Dadan representing Nauta on Thursday). Last week’s hearing was rescheduled after his flight to Miami was cancelled.
Prosecutors said US District Judge Aileen Cannon they want to start Trump’s trial on December 11. Trump pleaded not guilty to 37 federal charges, including that he allegedly kept dozens of classified documents and conspired to obstruct justice.
