This TV is ours now top recommendation for most people. It supports every major high dynamic range (HDR) format and can handle up to 120 frames per second while gaming. The downside (and this may not really be a downside) is that TCL has replaced its awesome built-in Roku interface for Google TV, which looks good and has every app you want but is a bit slower. little.

TVs with OLED panels have pixels that act as their own backlight. These pixels have the ability to turn themselves off, giving you perfect black levels—darker than conventional LED screens. Parker Hall, WIRED’s associate review editor, says the C2’s 4K OLED display is “absolutely stunning” and notes that it has some lowest input lag of any TV he ever watched. If you’re a gamer, that’s good news for you—it will handle games up to 120Hz in 4K.

Chromecast With Google TV (8/10, Recommend wired) comes with a beautifully designed interface that allows you to watch live channels on your TV without having to transfer it from one device to another. There is also a remote control. It has nearly every app you could want, and yes, you can still stream content from your phone or laptop if you want.

Roku is ours favorite streaming service. The interface is fast and snappy, easy to use, and there’s no obnoxious effort to push specific channels onto viewers (cough, looking at you, Amazon). For soundbars without a subwoofer included, M Series 2.1 has surprisingly strong bass. There is an HDMI ARC connection that allows your TV to control the volume remotely. You can even use its Bluetooth connection to stream music to it.

Save space by combining your streaming device right into the soundbar with the Roku Streambar. Not only does it include our favorite streaming service, through which you can stream practically any channel, but the sound quality is pretty good for the price.
