VW delays ID.7 EV release in US, electric Microbus unchanged
Volkswagen announced Wednesday that it will delay the arrival of its ID.7 electric hatchback to the United States and Canada.
VW did not provide a revised timeline for the ID.7’s arrival. It was originally expected later this year, for the 2025 model year.
In a statement about the delay, the company cited two reasons behind the change: changing market dynamics and stronger-than-anticipated demand for the Tourer variant in Europe.
“After introductions ID.7 Traveler, customer demand for these models is higher than expected, especially in Germany,” Volkswagen of America said. The ID.7 hatchback went on sale in Europe last year, while the ID.7 Tourer, the wagon version, is currently being delivered there.
