Volvo Cars Australia was forced to backtrack on his promise not to remove safety equipment from his car.
Gasoline versions in Australia XC40 and all versions of XC60 will temporarily lack some safety features due to lack of semiconductors.
These features are part of the Driver Awareness Package that includes blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear collision warning and mitigation.

“When we consult our retail network [of the missing safety features] A spokesperson for Volvo Car Australia said the expected time period was seven weeks but as of today it has improved by two weeks.
Customers now have four different options they can choose from if they book a car before dealers are notified.
They can choose a genuine Volvo accessory that retails for up to $1100 or get $850 off their vehicle’s purchase price.

Additionally, customers can delay their order until the safety features are back in action, or cancel their order altogether.
A spokesperson for Volvo Car Australia said customers “are best advised to discuss this with their local Volvo retailer and discuss all options available to them”.
Until now Volvo has not removed any features from its cars due to lack of semiconductors.
Several other automakers, including volkswagen, SkodaAnd peugeot removed some safety features on specific models due to lack of semiconductors.
BMW is also affected but has just begun overcomes changes to its semiconductor-related specifications for its models.
BMW Australia head of product and market planning Brendan Michel said the changes started rolling out online late last year, with some models returning to normal specifications in the first quarter. 2 year 2023.
