VIDEO: Honda City evaded NPE fee, collided with Proton X50
Another day, another highway toll evader, and one of the latest to cause a stir on social media is the driver of this black Honda City on the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) heading to Subang Jaya. This time, the opportunist collided directly with the vehicle ahead of them.
Shared with Malaysian dashcam owner Facebook page by Joshua Lim, the footage is dated February 21, with a timestamp indicating the incident occurred around 7:51 p.m. Typical type mode of operation happens – the driver behind the car follows the car in front on the way to the toll booth to get free rides, in this case the SmartTag lane.
Understanding the intentions of the driver behind, Lim tried to stop in the toll lane so as not to be taken advantage of. In their attempt to get through the toll booth, which is part of the NPE’s open toll system, the driver of a black Honda City collided with Lim’s rear bumper.
Aside from the obvious need to ensure one has sufficient credit for the chosen toll payment method, another question remains – is it possible to dodge the RM1.00 toll for this toll road? Worth the risk of potential damage and injury?
