It investigates regional differences in Nintendo’s popular kart racing series – from different announcers in Mario Kart 64 to the different physical packaging of Super Mario Kart in the US and Japan.
Perhaps one of the most famous regional differences in Super Mario Kart, in particular, is the title celebration. In the Japanese version of the game, the winning racer can be seen drinking a bottle of champagne on the podium.
