Vasyl Lomachenko About Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia: “I think Davis will win. He’s more aggressive.”

Vasyl Lomachenko has a lot of work to do at the moment. The Ukrainian boxer known as “Loma” had an undisputed lightweight title fight with Devin Haney in May. However, he was asked what he thinks of Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia’s upcoming blockbuster. After admitting that Davis-Garcia was indeed a huge fight, Loma was asked who he thought would win in April’s showdown between two young boxers with heavy fists.
“I think Davis will win,” Lomachenko told the media (do battle center). “He was more aggressive and he was always fighting with the biggest (guy) and the tallest (guy). I hope he will be ready for Ryan Garcia. Everyone knows Ryan Garcia can only make one shot. That’s (his) left hook and that’s it.” Indeed, a common criticism of the boxer known as “King Ry” is that he has a powerful backhand but not much else. Of course, Garcia will argue that’s not the case, and indeed he’ll get a chance to prove the world wrong a few weeks before Davis.
When asked about the rematch clause that Garcia must adhere to, Loma is said to have taken a humorous approach. “That’s one more thing why Gervonta Davis was able to beat him,” he said. “Ryan Garcia is huge for 135.” With Davis and Garcia able to get through the complex negotiation process required for a superfight, it’s worth wondering if Loma has a chance against either of the two famous fighters.
With that said, Haney looks as if he could gain weight after fighting Loma in late spring. As Loma ages a bit, it becomes clear that he may only have so many battles left before he calls it a career. It will be interesting to see with whom he ends up in the ring after his fight with Haney.
