UCF lobbies for fellow AAC schoolmate, undefeated generals champion Cincinnati to win Playoff tickets for College Football 2021
This year’s college football tournament will be the eighth installment. And while many of the same teams appear in the knockout stages year after year, the 2021 edition looks set to be vastly different with Cincinnati’s inclusion.
The Bearcats #4 ended the season 13-0 after beating Houston 35-20 in Saturday’s American Athletic Conference theme game.

Desmond Ridder’s three touchdowns and Jerome Ford’s two ground touches took the lead. Cincinnati is now widely predicted to become the first Group 5 school to make it to the knockout stages. Looks like everyone is in their corner.
Supporters include conference rival UCF, which won 12-0 and won the AAC title in both 2017 and 2018 but failed to make it through to the knockout stages, but still self crowned national champion.

The Bearcats have racked up two ranking wins this year, including a 24-13 win over No. 9 Notre Dame in South Bend, an outcome that will likely keep the Fighting Irish out of this year’s playoffs. This is the second season in a row that Luke Fickell’s team has won the AAC title and is unbeaten in the regular season. Last year, it lost to Georgia 24-21 in the Peach Bowl.
