Twitter user Bash ‘Hood Rat’ Atlanta supports ‘Classy’ DC
After one Twitter user shared an unpopular opinion about the comparison between Atlanta and Washington, DC, others set records!
A Tweeter Takes Down Atlanta While Placing DC on a Pedal
On Wednesday, one user had the opportunity to pop out and share her thoughts on people comparing the ATL to our nation’s capital city.
She particularly expressed her displeasure with those who dared to compare “luxury DC with hooded rats, strip clubs, nasty food with Atlanta.”
The person doesn’t stop there, however, as she continues to bring up topics like the job market, the prominence of Black wealth, and health care.
“You’ve actually sat here and compared DC luxury with you. You’ve actually sat here and compared luxury DC to rat hoods, strip clubs, disgusting food that has Atlanta. The job market is different, 2 of the wealthiest Black counties are in the DC area and one of the best hospitals in the world is in this area. People can’t be serious…”
You guys have actually sat here and compared luxury DC to hooded rats, strip clubs, nasty food when there’s Atlanta. The job market is different, 2 of the wealthiest Black counties are in the DC area and one of the best hospitals in the world is in this area. People can’t be serious…

Massive Twitter Reacts By Calling Original Poster ‘Anti-Black’
As one might guess, this user appeal didn’t go too well on Twitter.
People immediately began to examine the original poster by accusing her of having negative feelings for Black cities and criticizing her for “creating [an] unnecessary division.”
atlanna hood??? dc level??? you’re upset about black cities being remodeled right before our eyes. damn https://t.co/MTas0nupRR pic.twitter.com/fyJQvNMSUW

The fact that this conversation appeared during Black History Month is also not lost on users. In fact, one person called the post a “terrible act” that was “bringing back to the elite in BHM.”
Alas!
Not so much on Atlanta! This is a terrible act, especially when the no-opinion facts don’t take into account the fact that Atlanta is in Georgia and—systemic racism lmao
Both have wealth and Black communities (including hooded ones). It gives the elite in BHM.

Some people noted that this stance is just what they’d expect someone from DC to believe, and one user went as far as to say “America’s Jack and Jill jumped out.”
This tweet is very much in line with how I’ve heard about stereotypical DC people. https://t.co/sI7SD1EyRA

On the other hand, people also give her the statement that DC is “chic” for some serious people.

All in all, people have seriously pushed back on the original poster’s comments about DC and ATL, and they continue to highlight all that Atlanta has to offer.

What do you think of the overall conversation, Roomies? Also, do you personally feel as if Washington, DC, and Atlanta are comparable cities, or are they both in a separate category?
