Twitter says speed limit is to help stop bots, few users affected

Twitter usage limits were recently rolled out to “detect and remove bots and other bad actors,” the company said Tuesday, adding that only a “small percentage” currently affected users.
“To ensure the authenticity of our user base, we must take extreme measures to remove spam and bots from our platform,” Twitter said. in a blog post. “Any advance notice of these actions would allow the bad guys to change their behavior to avoid detection.”
The company says these actions are intended to prevent accounts from collecting public data of users to build artificial intelligence models and manipulate platform usage.
Twitter boss Elon Musk announced the limits on Saturday, says that users will only be allowed to read a certain number of posts per day due to “extremely high levels of data collection” and “system manipulation”.
Twitter has billed the restrictions as temporary, and they are classified based on the verification status of users on the platform. The update comes as many Twitter users encounter error messages when trying to access the platform.
“Currently, the restrictions affect a small percentage of people using the platform, and we will provide an update when the work is complete. As it concerns our customers, it affects advertising. very few,” Twitter said on Tuesday.
