Tucci Hot Rods is a crew of two based in New York: Dave Tucci, the owner, and Dom Tucci, the son and heir. For their first leap into big time auto show, Dom designed a package to turn 2022 Ford Maverick into a pickup truck on the street. Results achieved on the show floor at SEMA last month, not only won the fan’s win, but also received praise from Ford CEO Jim Farley on Instagram, Ford Performance Award for best vehicle on Ford reps, six purchase requisitions completed vans, and more spare parts requests. Fox News report that Tucci was trying to figure out how to get the truck and its parts on the market for sale.
First, about the truck. Tucci started with a four-wheel drive car Maverick The XLT is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. On Tucci’s in-house 3D printer, the company built fender flares, front spoiler, roof spoiler, and custom propeller jet wheels. The duo looks outside for performance bits like lowered coil suspension and Borla cat-back exhaust with carbon fiber accents, and hit the Ford Performance category for the tailgate spoiler, bed liner, bed sheet, and tailgate support. The interior features four Recaro Sportster race seats with straps, and many other Ford details like the F200 IR control cam.
With Maverick planning another 18 months of touring before it goes on sale, there is bound to be more demand. Tucci wants to accommodate all requests for construction and parts, the company told Fox News it is “talking with partners and exploring options for bringing them into production.” The goal is to get everything done by 2022, but Tucci notes that it wants to make sure parts can be sold “at a price commensurate with the high-end nature of the Maverick.” Which is also really cool.
