Triumph TE-1
Triumph has now outlined a roadmap in the fourth and final development phase of their TE-1 electric development project.

On the surface, it is unmistakable that Triumph and the British manufacturer have modeled the ergonomics, geometry and weight distribution of the Speed Triple while still following the Street Triple’s smallest proportions.
Engineers mapped the EV powertrain to simulate the throttle and torque delivery of their Speed Triple 1200 RS. On the TE-1, torque peaks at 109 Nm, which propels the 220 kg machine to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Regenerative braking is also offered and something that Triumph will continue to develop as they plan an EV in the future.
Although the TE-1 is a prototype, engineers have also used this exercise to perform and fine-tune useful forward and reverse modes along with custom power modes, traction control and Support stability control wheel lift.
The project is sponsored by Office for zero-emission vehicles through Innovate UK and was founded to make breakthrough developments in specialized electric motorcycle engineering and innovative integrated technology design.
