Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands split screen makes item management a chore

Co-op UI missing important information at a glance

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands there’s a glaring issue with the way item summaries are displayed in split-screen co-op versus solo play, and I don’t like seeing it. In another way Co-op experience is quite interesting and comfortableunfortunately that is an overall slogan to find the spoils – aka motivation of Borderlands – worth equipping or skipping.

It’s difficult to fully articulate the problem without visual aids, but I noticed something was wrong and I searched the net to see if anyone else was feeling the same way. (and if they’ve found a possible workaround; no dice). Other players have referred to the split-screen UI as “angered“”boring and obnoxious,” and “It’s almost impossible to sort everything out. ”

So, if you’re wondering if it’s oddly harder than usual to figure out what to equip in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands with another player by your side in split-screen mode, similar.

You can see what this dish can do on the spot without having to dig into the menu.

What the item summary looks like in split screen

There are red and green numbers, sure, but what specifically do they mean?

Ambiguous item cards also show up in the player’s inventory.

By manually “testing” this Bloodstone of Obsession (on the left), I can see how it works.

To see exactly what any given item does in split-screen mode, you’ll have to “check” it, and then, when you come back, the menu will take you to the top of the list, instead of leave you at the item you just checked. Again, it’s more of a chore than it needs to be, especially in a series as old as Borderlands. Vague user interface wastes time, immediately.

Compare items in Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
Comparing items in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands should be just as easy when playing solo *and* split screen.

As a final point of comparison, the screenshot above will look like when you equip an item as a solo player in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – you can see what the numbers really mean in context and have a detailed summary of the item perks, so it’s easy to weigh the pros and cons of the item new product compared to what you are currently equipped with.

There’s basically no need to jump back and forth between menus, as it should be.

Other players have provided feedback on their UI and it looks like the Gearbox Software situation can (and should) improve in a future update. I hope they do, and soon.

The underworld is a bit goofy in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, but I love it.

In the meantime, I’ll keep playing this game with an hour here and an hour there.

Even with UI bugs, I’m digging Wonderland more than expected and it’s great to have one honest to nice split screen game Again. I was worried about how it might run, but so far, on PS5, it’s been smooth enough in Resolution mode – for once, Performance mode isn’t really worth the visual trade-off. I always choose the latter, but not this time.

Also, if you’re curious, To be an option for horizontal and vertical split screen.

You might want to keep it for now, and admittedly, the $70 price tag on the burning PS5. But if Borderlands is your co-op game, Wonderland can be very hard to resist. I can not. Sometimes we’re just in the mood to cast magic and shoot goblins in the face with a spacetime SMG, and that’s okay. And heck, I don’t even mind Tina this time!
