Maryland State Fair and Agricultural Association, Inc. pleased to announce the 2022 Thoroughbred race schedule for the Timonium meeting. Running from August 26 to September 5, the seven days of this year’s race held during the Maryland State Fair will offer more than $287,000 per day.
The meeting will be for a $125,000 Timonium Distaff Share for bitches and mares, 3 years of age and older, 1/16 mile ride on Saturday, August 27. (* $75,000 guaranteed, plus with $25,000 for the Maryland or Maryland hybrid, plus $25,000 for the Maryland-hybrid and Maryland-sired.) $20,000 in trainer awards will be offered this year, sponsored by the Maryland State Fair. Prizes for the best groom in each race will also be awarded. The Maryland State Fair thanks the Maryland Thoroughbred Riders Association, the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, the Maryland Equestrian Club and the Maryland State Fair Board for making this all possible.
The annual College Day at the Fair will take place on August 27. Eleven $1,000 college scholarships are awarded to pre-registered full-time college students to attend. College Day is designed to attract millennials to experience the Purebred race and the Maryland State Fair
