Although Tim Tszyu had hoped to face Jermell Charlo for the undisputed middleweight world title, the injured Charlo had to leave the field to make way for former world player Tony Harrison to face Tszyu. unbeaten. Sure, both men deserve credit for agreeing to go head to head on Saturday night (US time) in Australia. For, although the WBO middleweight belt is temporarily at stake, a loss could be a serious setback to each man’s respective careers.

Harrison’s stabbing 29-3-1 told the first story. Tszyu 21-0 may have had his moments, but he simply wasn’t active throughout the half. Tszyu had a better second inning, though Harrison’s stab again may have helped him win the chapter on the referee’s card. Tszyu rocked Harrison in season three. Harrison recovered well, but it was clear that Tszyu would be able to land – something he did many times late in the inning.

Harrison had a good quarter – thanks again for the stab. However, Tszyu can still land when he wants to. He is clearly the stronger of the two men, plus Harrison moves around a lot while Tszyu is conserving energy with his slow, steady, and aggressive pace. Local star Tszyu began adapting Harrison in the fifth season. The American will have to adjust if he wants to win the war. Harrison had a strong sixth round… but he looked defeated in the mid-round corner.

A sharper and more dynamic Harrison seems to take seventh place. The eighth season pretty much covers the war in microcosm – Harrison is faster and lands more. However, Tszyu threw harder shots, and it was clear that those hits had an impact on Harrison. Tszyu dealt a terrifying blow to Harrison in the ninth round, using his fists to beat Harrison over and over until Harrison collapsed. The Detroit boxer bravely stood up, but the referee, watching, intelligently stopped the fight.

“What the fuck is my mother’s name??” Tszyu shouted in the interview after the battle. He’s currently up against Charlo for the undisputed middleweight title. “The message was sent clearly. You know what’s up, he said. “You know what’s next. I am going to. I’m going to America.” Without a doubt, Charlo will gladly welcome him.

“The better man won tonight,” Harrison said kindly. “Tim, congratulations, my boy.”
