Tim Bradley Perspective Terence Crawford Vs. Jaron Ennis Is One Side: “Somebody’s Going to Sleep and It’s Not Going to Be Crawford”

At 24, Jaron Ennis should have been in the prime of his career.

However, despite the normal career arc of a younger boxer, Ennis didn’t want a slow and methodical build towards the top of the sport. Now, thanks to countless knockout victories against big-name fighters, Ennis has quickly risen to the weight division.

In view of the budding 147-pound star, a confrontation with the best of the division was inevitable. If the decision rests entirely with the Philadelphia native, he’ll enjoy testing his skills against pound weight star and current WBO weightlifter, Terence Crawford.

Although their performance is unlikely to happen in the immediate future, Ennis is getting closer to hitting Crawford’s net than many realize.

In 2021, Ennis has delivered excellent performances in a row. First on his schedule, was a duel with former 140-pound champion turned 147-pound contender, Sergey Lipinets. While the one-time belt holder was considered his toughest test, Ennis made it quick, knocking him out in the fourth round, before finishing him off in the sixth.

Next up for Ennis was a heavyweight showdown with formidable opponent Thomas Dulorme. In the end, while Dulorme brought up problems for many names at 147 pounds, Ennis had no trouble dealing with him, stopping him in the first round.

After those two decisive wins, Ennis is now second in the WBO group. But as the 24-year-old gets closer and closer to a showdown with an equally evenly matched opponent, former two-division champion Tim Bradley believes Ennis should be careful what he wants.

“Someone’s going to sleep and it’s not going to be Crawford,” Bradley said in an interview with BoxingInsider.com.

Finally, Ennis seems to be taking his career in another direction. In a bid to win more than just one world title, Ennis set his sights on Errol Spence Jr. With the roster unified focusing his efforts on his upcoming bout against WBA champion Yordenis Ugas, Ennis is trying to position himself to take on the winner.

On May 14 in Los Angeles, California, Ennis will face undefeated candidate Custio Clayton in an IBF title knockout. Regardless of the path Ennis ultimately chose, Bradley believed it was foolish of him to take on Crawford.

Most recently, the 34-year-old tennis player successfully defended her 5th consecutive world championship title. At the end of 2021, Crawford meets good friend and former two-time champion Shawn Porter.

Throughout the early parts of the match, Crawford struggled with his opponent’s clumsy rhythm. However, despite Porter’s early success, Crawford would eventually dissect his man on his way to a 10th round victory.

As Bradley continued to shake his head at the mere thought of Crawford and Ennis sharing the ring, the Hall of Fame hoped for a final brief statement for Ennis, and anyone else for that matter. , who doubted Crawford’s skill.
