This crazy Honda Crosstour U-turn is just a stunt to catch the view

Recently, a video has gone viral around Twitter showing what appears to be a Honda CrossTour make an extremely complicated U-turn on a narrow hill. To make a U-turn, the driver must hang the rear wheel off the curb. It certainly showed off some impressive driving skills, but it also seemed completely unnecessary and potentially damaging to the car.

Interestingly, the hill in the video reminds us of an earlier article that we published featured a video showing a Baojun 360 with Wuling badges performing a similar, but not nearly as crazy, turn on a hill like it. That can’t be a coincidence, can it? So what’s with that hill? What could possibly cause many people to feel the need to make a crazy U-turn on a hill? Sure, can they come back at the top or simply reverse the way down?

The expert driver shows off his skills in turning a car in a very narrow road

After a little digging, we can tell you it’s almost certainly not a coincidence, but the reason people do those crazy turns on the hill isn’t that they need to do. That’s because they’re running in view. The channel that posted the video above didn’t try to keep it a secret either. The description for the DrivingSkill YouTube channel literally reads: “This is a channel about extreme car driving. A group of car driving enthusiasts from the mountains of Southwest China will show you their driving skills on mountain roads. If you are interested in our videos, subscribe to our channel.”

Incredible driving skills: U-turn on cliffs

Yet again, something crazy was posted on the internet to get people to click on it. If you were hoping for some more detailed explanation behind these treacherous bends, we regret letting you down. But at the same time, it doesn’t look like the videos are completely fake. The drivers seem to be amazingly skilled and they’re really taking those turns. They’re not normal people who do these things every day to get groceries or something.

Interestingly, however, the Honda Crosstour does not appear on the YouTube channel. It’s hard to imagine someone using the same hill to demonstrate exactly the same kind of driving skill, but we can’t be 100% sure it’s the same channel.

Maybe it was first uploaded on another social media platform. It was probably deleted and replaced with a very similar video. We’ve tried to find the source of the Honda video, but it still hasn’t worked. And since the viral video’s Twitter account isn’t kind enough to cite its source, that doesn’t help either. But after reviewing the videos of the DrivingSkill channel, we can at least say with confidence that no normal person does this with their Crosstour. It’s just an extremely talented driver showing off on YouTube, and you know what? There’s nothing wrong with that.
