As I’ve tried to explain to my husband over and over again – to no avail, of course – you can never really have enough black boots. This is especially true for myself, who mostly lives in shoe style (in one form or another) during most of fall and winter. The same goes for any girl live in NYC, indeed, where the name of the game is the function. You need your casual boots, your heels, snow shoesand everything in between. Then, if you’re a geek like me, you’ll find that there are subcategories in all of these categories that must also be met. For example, a casual boot that won’t break in the rain, a slick pair and statement style. Or high heel boots that look good with trousers, one for jeans, one for shorts, one for dresses and skirts, etc… I could go on, but instead, I will cut across.
Despite owning more black boots than anyone should admit in many closets and storage situations across America, I will always be forced to buy more of my favorite shoe—but only if they are good enough.
