The KL Car Free Morning (KLCFM) working committee has announced that there will be no KLCFM on May 12, which is next Sunday. The weekly Sunday morning open race around the city was canceled due to a cycling event taking place in KL the same day.
A quick check shows that the GFNY Kuala Lumpur 2024 race will take place in KL this Sunday, with the flag being lowered at Dataran Merdeka. The event bills itself as KL’s signature international cycling marathon and features two courses – a 129.1km competitive long course and a 67.5km unranked intermediate course. If you participate, good luck!
Fans of KLCFM – where 5/7km of the city center street was closed to traffic to allow cyclists, joggers and skateboarders complete freedom on Sunday morning – will have to wait for further notice for the next event.
