The Longines World Racing Awards 2022, organized by the Swiss watch brand Longines and the International Equestrian Federation, will take place on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. The event will honor Racehorses. The Longines World Championship and the Longines World Equestrian Championship of the 2022 season and winners will be announced starting at approximately 14:15 GMT/9:15 EST.
The live event will take place at Banqueting House in London. This year marks the 400th anniversary of the building, which is one of the Historic Royal Palaces and the only surviving part of the lost Whitehall Palace. The live stream of the ceremony will be released on multiple digital platforms, including BloodHorse.com as well as the Longines and IFHA social media accounts, as well as the World Equestrian Championship. In addition, many other racing industry players from around the world will present prizes.
The top rated horses in the Longines World Best Horse Ranking and the 2022 Longines World Best Horse Race will be revealed and celebrated. The Longines World Best Racehorse rankings are established by international competitors based on horse performance in top races. The highest rated race is determined by averaging the rankings of the four horses placed first.
This is the 10th honor ceremony of Longines World’s Best Horse Race and the 8th time Longines World’s Best Horse Race will be honored. The winning horse’s connections will be presented with an elegant Longines watch and a replica of the Longines World’s Best Racehorse vase. Longines World’s Best Equestrian Connectors will also be awarded a watch and a replica of the trophy representing a proud horse head.
In addition, the annual IFHA list of the top 100 Group/Class 1 races will be published, as will rankings for all horses around the world ranked 115 and above. A full list and more information on the Longines World Best Racehorse Ranking will be available on IFHA’s website.
