The Vision GT Roadster is the ultimate Jaguar
It’s a shame Jaguar didn’t decide to make the Vision GT a limited series production supercar, because the latest Roadster version will be an instant hit with 60 cars running and selling out of 2 million each in just a few hours. Then again, modern supercars drive like they’re in a video game anyway, so perhaps the best thing is that these cars are all pixelated and programmed, to be close. as anyone can enjoy them. Well, anyone can get a couple of dollars off a full-sized PlayStation 5 and sixty dollars on Gran Turismo 7.
This is the final extension of the Vision GT 2019 concept from Jag, and the third (and best) installment in a three-car series. First the coupe, then the competitive spec model, now a convertible. The first two parts are a bit meh, but the third part is practically perfect. This modern takes on D-type styling and the XK-SS is exactly the kind of car the world needs right now. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and it’s aloof, that’s the best way to be great, you know?
I’ve always liked the one-seat outdoor space Super car concept. It gives a bit of uninhabitable nature that supercars used to have. Modern supercars are so good, they’re comfortable and quiet enough that you could theoretically drive them all the time if you wanted to. But the topless are just begging for a less crowded weekend to good driving roads, or racetracks. This is not a touring car or a grocery car. And honestly, that’s how they should be.
It used to be an event that seeing supercars on the street was an event, but today, it seems that McLarens and Ferraris on the street are almost outnumbered by Teslas. Let’s go back to cars as an event. Let’s go back to ushering in an unusual top match like this one. That’s My Vision, GT Walker.
