The Tyler Tribe to Turf in Keeneland Breeze
The Invincibles Tyler tribe his first spin around Keeneland the field on the morning of October 15 to prepare for the start of the Breeders Cup ‘November 4 (G1T) Junior Sprint at Lexington racetrack.
Owned in partnership with Tom Lepic and trainer Tim Martin, the high-speed Iowa crossbreed, accompanied by regular pilot Kylee Jordan, tri-coated at: 39 4/5.
Unaccustomed to the cones, or “dogs” erected around the lawn, Tyler’s Tribe managed to jump the cones into his work before starting his stride in the lane.
“We don’t have cones in Iowa,” Martin joked after the breeze. “I think (he’s) fine. As long as he’s not flustered out there and messing with it, that’s not him. Time is not my concern.
“He always works (three feathers) at :38 or :39. If he goes with another horse, he will work a bullet. But otherwise he is not a working horse. fast and I don’t care about being really fast anyway there’s wind with him. I know he’s fast and I know he can run.”
Martin has reported that Tyler’s Tribe will appear on the main track Keeneland next weekend before returning to the field for three more drills on Saturday before the Turf Sprint.
