The journey of Jamie Turner Jewelry started with a passion for gemstones. Founder and Texas native Robert Turner began collecting gemstones in the early 2000s. This passion evolved into a desire to create unique jewelry, leading him to design his own jewelry in 2017. By 2020, he had teamed up with master jeweler Patrick Dobbs, and together, they officially launched Jamie Turner Jewelry in 2022. Robert shares, “Since I started designing jewelry by making pieces for my daughter Jamie, her name seemed like a natural fit for the brand itself. Jamie has always been my biggest listener, critic, and fan. She loves to give input and edits to the line, especially when it comes to wearability and trends.” Jamie’s style and feedback play a key role in shaping the brand’s aesthetic, ensuring each piece is both stylish and functional.

The partnership between Robert Turner and Patrick Dobbs is the foundation of the Jamie Turner brand. Patrick’s expertise in both traditional jewellery craftsmanship and modern CAD (computer-aided design) technology has been instrumental in the development of the brand. ‘When I decided to learn how to make jewellery, I hired Patrick to teach me the craft,’ explains Robert. ‘Patrick is unique in that he is a master jeweller and very good at CAD. So he taught me CAD, and in the process, I convinced him to join me in founding Jamie Turner.’ This partnership has allowed the brand to combine craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology, creating beautiful and technically superior pieces.

The inaugural 2022 collection has been carefully curated to bring colour and sparkle to everyday wear as well as special occasions. ‘We really wanted to bring colour and sparkle to our pieces and make them wearable for both everyday wear and special occasions. We decided to use smaller diamonds to create more organic shapes in the pieces rather than large diamonds and wanted pieces that would compliment the natural stones we were using by highlighting them,’ the founder shares.

Robert’s designs reflect an appreciation for the randomness and order found in natural forms, combining an organic aesthetic with precise craftsmanship. The designs often feature bold, modern elements while still honoring the intricate beauty of nature. “I love bold color palettes and intricate, detailed landscapes,” he says. “I think both of those themes are reflected in our pieces – there’s a modern element to our techniques and many of our larger shapes, but there’s also a reverence for nature and the patterns found in nature that add depth and interest to our jewelry.” The design process often begins with unique stones, around which Robert builds each piece. This approach ensures that many of their pieces are one-of-a-kind, celebrating the unique qualities of each gemstone.

Robert has a deep appreciation for vibrant colors and detailed landscapes, elements that are always reflected in his jewelry. For example, the Spring 2024 campaign captures the essence of the Texas Hill Country, with vibrant and colorful gemstones set against a natural backdrop. ‘We aim to create jewelry that is as unique and beautiful as our city. We strive to design pieces that tell a story and last a lifetime,’ Robert shares.
