There’s a great piece by Ben Pile in TCW, about how green policies have led to the current, inevitable energy crisis:
As inflation picks up and our prospects for a return to normalcy after the pandemic look increasingly dim in the distant future, criticism is rightly focused on financial institutions and regulators. They argue that money printing, which has inevitably sent prices up, is necessary to mitigate the economic chaos of the shutdowns. But now, they appear to be behind a deeply self-destructive third act to help steer the world toward inflation and deliberately prevent an economic recovery. The increase in energy prices that the world has witnessed is not the result of an unforeseen supply crisis, but rather the creation of those responsible for managing the economy.
