For an old dog, she’s spent her whole life living like a street stray. Unfortunately, one day she was hit by a car and lay motionless.
Unable to walk, her future looks grim. Fortunately, she was found by a kind Samaritan who was always worried about her and warned DAR Rescue to her situation.
That’s when DAR Rescue’s Ermioni stepped in to help the senior dog. When she arrived at the scene, she was told that the old dog was estimated to be 13 or 14 years old, and had lived her whole life straying along Lake Plastira – a beautiful spot in Greece where she lived a good life. of tourists. Good Samaritan also mentions that the larger dog had survived various injuries prior to this incident.
When Ermioni arrived, the dog was unable to move because both of her hind legs were injured. However, she can still put the dog in the crate and take it to the vet for a checkup.
On arrival at the vet, it was found that the dog had indeed suffered from previous fracture wounds and had healed on its own. The poor dog really has been through battles all her life.
The older pupa is kept at the clinic, but for the first few days it refuses to eat. She also couldn’t walk. However, after a few days, the hunger has disappeared and she will sneak up on eating thinking that no one is watching.
Things started to get better when she started being able to stand up for herself. And the old dog even made friends with a kitten!
After a month of recuperation at the veterinary clinic, she is finally ready to move into the DAR shelter, where she will have a warm bed and food as she awaits the permanent home she will live in. he deserves it. Hopefully she’ll find it soon!
