The NBA is reportedly considering a return to the All-Star Games East vs.
maybe NBA back to its traditional All-Star Game format?
The NBA is considering bringing the All-Star Game back to the Eastern Conference and Western Conference formats, The Athletic reported Friday.
The report notes that making the game more competitive is the main topic of conversation between the NBA and the NBPA regarding a new collective bargaining agreement.
Although the number of goals has increased significantly over the years, the NBA All-Star Game has earned a bad reputation for being just an offensive shootout with no defense.
Each of the last six NBA All-Star Games featured two players acting as captains and outlining their respective teams. Captain included LeBron James, Stephen’s Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo And Kevin Durant. The most recent All-Star East vs West match was in 2017 when the West beat the East by a score of 192-182 in New Orleans.
This year’s All-Star game saw Team Giannis beat Team LeBron 184-175 in Salt Lake City. The 2023 draft differs from previous years in that both captains choose their rosters before kick-off.
Next season’s All-Star game takes place in Indianapolis.
