For most people, going through the fast food drive with their dog will lead to chaos. Most dogs will rush at the opportunity to gobble up your chicken nuggets, even if you don’t feed them.
While most people expect a dog to inhale a McDonald’s cheeseburger in one bite (including the wrapper), not every dog is obsessed with the treat. Lander the Labrador Retriever likes to get special snacks at the drive-thrus, but he earns his reward. Instead of tearing down an entire vehicle for food, he exhibits better manners than most humans.
Lander Gets a Cheeseburger
One TikTok user, named Chrystal, posted a video of her ordering a special cheeseburger for Lander. In the video, Lander sits patiently in the passenger seat as his mother pulls into a McDonald’s and asks for a cheeseburger without onions or pickles. Onions aren’t safe for dogs, and Lander doesn’t like pickles.
When most dog parents come to the drive-thru window, their dogs are usually very excited and curious about the smell of the food. But Lander did not react. Even when the staff brought food to his mother, Lander remained the calmest dog possible. He barely looks at the food, and he doesn’t smell it or try to take a bite.

First, Chrystal unwrapped the food to make sure there were no onions on the burger. Then she cut it into quarters for Lander. She placed the fourth pellets between the two of them and told Lander he could eat them. However, the dog did not budge. He seemed curious, but he didn’t rush into the burger like a normal dog.
Lander didn’t eat the burgers until his mother gave them to him. He happily eats them, but he chews them delicately and is not greedy at all. This dog may have the best manners of any dog on the planet!
The most patient dog in the world
TikTok users immediately fell in love with Lander. All the commenters couldn’t believe that Lander wasn’t more greedy with his food. One even suggested he might be a cat instead of a Lab. And some people point out that their dogs will eat the bag and part of the car for a cheeseburger.
But these calm behaviors are normal for Lander. To prove it, Chrystal posted a second video of Lander receiving a roast beef sandwich from Arby’s. He seems to prefer roast beef to burgers, but he remains patient and waits for his human to hand feed him.
Lander seems to have a naturally calm demeanor every time he’s in the car, and that’s the cutest thing ever. He seems to have found the perfect system to indulge in fast food and have it delivered to him. Maybe his videos will help encourage other puppies to be patient so they can enjoy the cheeseburger too.
