Stolen Puppy’s magical home can be returned to thanks to social media
Korben the Yorkie is only six months old, but he’s been through a lot. He receives a lot of love in his hometown, but recently he met someone who is not good to him. One morning, Brandi Major’s daughter let the puppy out on the pitch instead of taking him for a morning walk. It seemed harmless at the time, but he was gone when she turned her back.
When the Major returned home later, Korben was not seen. However, the gate to the fenced yard remained open, and the puppy’s identification tag lay on the ground. The major learns that someone has stolen her beloved dog, and she is heartbroken.
The innocent dog is in danger
The major explained that her gate was difficult to open, so someone must have opened the gate, took off Korben’s collar, and ran off with him. All her contact information is on his card, and he still hasn’t been microchiped. So she frantically drove around the neighborhood calling Korben’s name. When that doesn’t work, she also makes posters to spread around.
“I’m really heartbroken, I really was, because that’s my little muffin.” Major said.
While Major was looking for her puppy, Stacey Carlton found Korben. Her father-in-law witnessed someone throw the dog out of the car and into a puddle. He picked up the soaked puppy and brought it to Carlton. She quickly took a picture of him and posted it on Facebook groups about the missing dog. However, Carlton and the Major never saw each other’s posts.
Carlton couldn’t take care of the puppy on her own, so she ended up taking it to the Metairie Humane Society, who also shared photos of it on Facebook.
The Internet brings the Korben . home page
Luckily, one person saw both Carlton’s post and Major’s post. They realized that the two women were talking about the same dog, so they contacted the Major. Major then contacted Carlton, who provided her with information for the humanitarian society. Not long after, Major and Korben were reunited!
Korben is currently at home, cuddling his kitten brother named Tico. Since this terrifying event, Major has met with Carlton to thank her. She even brought baby gifts for Carlton because she was expecting.
Carlton said of Korben: “I told her the greatest gift was knowing he was coming home.
While Korben’s story has a happy ending, not all stolen dogs are so lucky. The Humane Society Metairie says they receive between 75 and 100 lose a dog every year, but only about half of them found their way home. So Major has since had Korben microchips to make sure he stays safer from now on.
