The Grand Tour finale airs on September 13 – The final adventure of Clarkson, May and Hammond

For some of us, the trio of Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond are the ones who got us interested in cars. For over two decades, the team has introduced some of the world’s most exciting (and most boring) vehicles while taking us on various adventures.

However, the trip will end with the final episode of The Grand Tourwill air on September 13 this year on Amazon Prime Video. In a new trailer ahead of the episode’s release, we get our first official look at some of the antics that are about to unfold.

Like recent episodes of the show, the trio will embark on another epic road trip, this time through Zimbabwe in three cars they’ve always wanted to own. We don’t get to see much action on the road, but it looks like Clarkson will be in a Lancia Montecarlo, Hammond in a Ford Capri and May in a Triumph Stag.

Fans of this trio will know them best from their time in the revived band Top of the line equipment It aired in 2002, with Clarkson, Hammond and Jason Dawe as the first hosts before the latter was replaced by May after the first series.

After Clarkson’s contract was terminated, not renewed by BBC in March 2015, all three left with producer Andy Wilman to form The Grand Tour. From 2016 to 2019, the new program has a similar format to Top of the line equipment but later switched to its current epic adventure format after the conclusion of its third season in April 2019.

Seasons four and five each have four episodes, fewer than the previous season. The episodes see the group travel to Vietnam, Madagascar, Scotland, England and Wales, Scandinavia, Central Europe and, more recently, the Sahara Desert. In recent years, each member of the group has gone on to explore other projects such as Clarkson Farm, James May: Our man in… And Richard Hammond’s Studio.

As an era comes to a close, what’s your favorite memory of Clarkson, May and Hammond? Get those boxes of tissues ready for September 13, and as Clarkson says in the trailer, “so, for the last time, here we go.”
