‘The Down Syndrome Act means a lot to me’
Lucienne, Charlotte and Sarah, from Sutton in south London, are all members of the Down Syndrome National Policy Group working to bring about change for people with the condition.
After lobbying the government, listening to issues from people with Down syndrome and gaining the backing of MPs, the Down Syndrome Act was agreed to by the Royal Family.
The Act would give people with Down syndrome better rights to housing, education, social care and health care.
