Paramount+ Series Coming Soon Deadly charm-main character Lizzy Caplan, Joshua Jackson and Amanda Peet—will premiere the first two episodes on April 30, the streamer announced on January 9.
Deadly charm described by Paramount+ as a “deep re-enactment” of the classic 1987 horror film starring Glenn Close, Michael Douglas and Archer Anne in roles currently played by Caplan, Jackson and Peet.
“The new series will explore the deadly allure and timeless themes of marriage and infidelity,” the streamer said, “through the prism of modern attitudes towards strong women. aggression, personality disorders, and compulsive control.”
Alexandra Cunninghamwho previously worked with Peet on Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Storyacts as a presenter and writer.
“[The show] is about how some people can’t win,” Cunningham said at Deadly charmof the TV Critics Circle on Jan. 9. “It’s about self-image and what we’re going to do to protect it, and what happens when someone doesn’t. And if we don’t, it’s not. done their job, which these actors and their co-stars certainly did, they think your feelings will change more than once.”
