Bret Winingar and his son Zach were cycling along the rural outskirts of Little Rock when they discovered a crate hidden in the weeds. When they got closer, they saw that the top of the box had been worn down. They knew something was wrong when they saw this, so they immediately tried to pry open the container.

The couple were shocked to discover a severely emaciated dog rotting in the corner of the box. Her body was full of bleeding wounds, formed from the open sores she had endured for weeks in the cage.

The dog is named Charlie Bravo, and he gets whatever food and water the kids have. They ran home as fast as they could, bringing the cart to pull the dog away. It was decided that Charlie the dog was in extreme shock from hunger and agoraphobia. She couldn’t even walk because of her bad condition, but the Winingars assured her they would take care of her.

Charlie made a slow but steady recovery with the Brets over the next few days. The family originally planned to raise her until she was well, but it became clear that they would not be able to do so. As a result, Charlie became the 4th rescue dog in her new home.

Charlie’s interest in bicycles grows as she gets better. After all, the men who saved her were cyclists. One day, Bret decided to build a crate for Charlie on his bike and invited her to come along. The overwhelmed girl immediately climbed up, and since then has not looked back.

Charlie has now evolved into a ‘free-spirited’ adventurer. Charlie is a true example for anyone trying to get out of a bad situation in life, as she did when turning her life around.
