The cars of Monterey Car Week
When you fly into Monterey for Car Week, the first thing you experience is a somewhat shabby and outdated airport. However, you will quickly throw that image aside, because the rest of what you experience at Car Week is almost a dream.
This is my first time attending Car Week. I have never seen so many classics and strange vehicle in one place. I grew up near Detroit, where we have Woodward Dream Cruise. But those cars are often American-made relics — muscle cars, hot rods, in tribute to the manufacturers of the Midwest.
It is nothing compared to the Monterey Peninsula, where, during a long weekend, is swim in every exotic car you can name, along with exquisite examples of the rarest, most sought-after vintage machines in the world. I memorized one quite a few photos from my time in Monterey. This are some of my favorites.
