The autism service dog cares for the boy, when he feels no one else cares
Twelve year old Sean is an extraordinary kid! In one video, he talks about his Autism Service Dog named Max. Sean says Max is a huge help when he’s sad or angry. Sean “is doing well across the spectrum.” Max is his constant companion and brings him both pleasure and comfort.
Based on WebMDHigh-functioning autism “As an unofficial information [term] some people use when they talk about people with autism spectrum disorder being able to speak, read, write and process basic life skills like eating and dressing.”
Max is well trained and understands the commands needed to help Sean. For example, Sean had a rough night with homework. He was angry and frustrated. Max senses Sean’s feelings and rushes to Sean’s side to help calm him down. Stroking Max and hugging him a lot will help Sean a lot.
Sean’s words say it best. When Max comes to help, it’s like his service dog is saying, “I care about you. If no one else, I care about you. Sean brags that Max is a good boy and his best friend! The story in the video below is both moving and informative. Service dogs are awesome!
