Honda Malaysia announced in March that they will launch four new models this year in the country, and the all-new CR-V will be among them. The new model measures 4,694 mm long and 1,865 mm wide, 71 mm longer and 10 mm wider than the current fifth-generation model it will replace.

The larger size makes the cabin more spacious and the rear legroom is increased by 15 mm. The dashboard architecture of the sixth-generation CR-V is similar to that of the Civic, although with the center console containing the gear lever and drive mode selector placed side by side.

Honda says the safety kit on the sixth-generation CR-V for the US market includes blind spot information (BSI), while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is now available with Lane Keeping Assist. In Thailand, the sixth-generation CR-V is sold with two powertrain options. One is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 190 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 242 torque from 1,700 rpm to 5,000 rpm, combined with a continuously variable transmission and engine. the other is a 2.0 liter Atkinson 4-cylinder engine with e-CVT combined with two electric motors to produce 207 PS and 371 Nm from 0 to 2,000 rpm.

The fifth generation CR-V is launched in Malaysia in July 2017and facelift coming in November 2020. The current model is on sale in Malaysia from RM146,900 for the base 2.0L 2WD variant and the range of four variants tops out the 1.5L TC-P 4WD for RM171,400.
