It’s almost impossible to count the number of times that I’ve been stopped in the street and asked where an item I was wearing was from and the answer has been Marks and Spencer. What usually follows is surprise, but after years of uncovering hidden gems from the high-street hero, I’m always confident in the brand’s ability to deliver accessible takes on runway pieces, and it’s given me a lot of bragging rights.
Marks and Spencer has had a particularly good run of transitional pieces and standout accessories in the last few months, and now that we’re on the cusp of a crisp and cold autumn perfect for boot season, I’ve found the latest piece about to be a bestseller, and it’s a designer dupe that looks far more expensive than its high-street price tag.
The brand’s chunky Chelsea flatform boots were a hot topic in the Who What Wear editor group chat last winter due to their style, practicality and price. Just when we’d been looking for a versatile and comfortable everyday boots, hey presto, we found it. And not only did they look good, but they felt good too thanks to the brand’s cushioned Insolia insoles, and I’m happy to report–they’re back in stock.
