The 2025 BMW M2 gets more powerful – and more colorful

2025 BMW M2 is here, and with it comes the two-door M car’s first major update since Launching the 2023 model year.

For starters, 2025 M2 gets a slight power boost from a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. Output is now 473 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque for the six-speed manual transmission, representing a 20-horsepower increase. The M2 equipped with the 8-speed automatic gets an even bigger power boost as output increases to 473 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, making the automatic a torquey proposition. higher torque. Thanks to the extra power, both the manual and automatic versions shave 0.1 seconds off their respective 0-60 times – the manual is pegged at 4.1 seconds, while the automatic does it at 3.9. BMW car says it has also retuned the throttle map and feedback to deliver “faster response” to acceleration inputs.

As for the external changes, the big news is a massive expansion color color board. New shades for 2025 include Java Blue Metallic, Voodoo Blue, Grigio Telesto Pearl Effect Metallic (see gallery at the top of this post), Twilight Purple Pearl Effect Metallic, Sao Paulo Gold, Vegas Red Metallic, Portimao Blue Metallic and Skyscraper Gray Metallic. New bright silver finished wheels join black and two-tone wheel options. Additionally, the badging is now black with silver trim and the exhaust tips are finished in black as standard (previously optional).

Look inside the 2025 M2 and you’ll notice a new flat-bottom steering wheel design available in leather or Alcantara (both can be optionally heated). New black Vernasca leather seats with red accents are available (see above), but don’t worry, M Carbon bucket seats are still optional. You can specify them as part of the Carbon Package or (new for 2025) as a stand-alone option. The center console gets some minor updates in the form of new adjustment controls for the air vents and new M Fine Brushed Aluminum as a new standard trim option.

A major tech update comes in the form of iDrive 8.5 (previous M2s were running iDrive 8), which we consider a major usability upgrade. It brings a new optional capability in the form of Live Cockpit Professional which includes an augmented view for navigation purposes, projecting animated arrows on the road via the camera feed.

All of these upgrades are expected to come with a price increase, as the 2025 M2’s new base price is $66,075, including a $1,175 destination charge. That’s $1,880 more than the 2024 model, which doesn’t sound like a bad deal considering the performance and equipment upgrades. BMW expects the updated M2 to go on sale in August this year.
