The 2023 Kawasaki KX250 and KX250X motorcycles are now available in Malaysia, RM35,000 and RM35,500
Following an announcement made in March, Malaysian motorcyclists can now purchase the Kawasaki KX250 and KX250X 2023 for RM35,000 and RM35,500 respectively. Both the KX250 and KX250X are intended for off-road use only and cannot be road-registered due to the lack of road-legal hardware such as lights, mirrors, and turn signals.
Power for both KW models comes from a 249 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine, combined with a 5-speed gearbox and ultimate chain drive. Kawasaki Malaysia has not revealed any power figures for the KX250 while 6.2 liters of fuel is carried in the fuel tank.
Designed for competition, the KX250 is equipped with an electric starter, launch control and adjustable Renthal Fatbar handlebars. Suspension uses 48 mm diameter upside-down forks with adjustable compression and damping, providing 314 mm of travel.
Meanwhile, the rear end is assisted with Kawasaki’s Uni-Tak increased speed suspension with adjustable dual-band compression, rebound and adjustable front-load shock absorbers with 316 mm of suspension travel. . In terms of suspension adjustment, the front fork provides 23 levels of compression damping and 20 levels of return while the rear monoshock provides 21 levels of compression and 38 levels of return.
Wheel sizes vary between the KX250 and KX250X, with the KX250 being more competitively oriented, featuring 21-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels, shod with 80/100 and 110/90 rear tires. The KX250X comes with the same size front wheel as the KX250 but with an 18-inch rear wheel wrapped in 110/100 rubber.
Another big difference between the KX250 and the KX250X is that the KX250 omits the internal rack while for the KX250X it is standard equipment. Braking is identical on both motorcycles, with a single 270 mm disc and two-piston calipers at the front and single-piston calipers with 2450 mm discs at the rear.
In terms of dimensions, the KX250 has a wheelbase of 1,485 mm, a seat height of 950 mm and a ground clearance of 335 mm, with a weight of 107.3 kg. The corresponding measurements on the KX250X are 1,480 mm ground clearance, 945 mm seat height and 330 mm ground clearance.
