Allianz Truck Warrior – roadside assistance/towing cargo trucks up to 7.5 tons with policy add-on RM120

When it comes to vehicle breakdown, there is no distinction in the size of the vehicle. Most people are familiar with tractors and the range of support they provide in the event of an accident or breakdown, but this is usually from the passenger car’s point of view, simply because the numbers make it so. most conspicuous.

Less noticeable is that of commercial vehicles, specifically cargo vehicles, but with about 670,000 of these on the roads nationwide, you would expect that there will be quite a few people in need of roadside assistance. in some form at some point in time.

While repair services are available to them, it is usually done on an ad-hoc basis, at the expense of the trucker/truck operator or owner, and this can be a costly issue. least. So the idea of offering dedicated roadside assistance coverage to freight vehicles on a 24/7 basis sounds like welcome news to commercial vehicle operators.

The cool thing about this is that it won’t be expensive, not when it’s an extension of the car’s coverage. That’s exactly what Allianz General is offering with its new product launch Truck warrior Allianzan additional benefit program for holders of comprehensive carrier insurance policies, like the one offered by the airline Allianz Road Ranger for cars and motorbike.

Through a single RM120 add-on in addition to Allianz’s comprehensive truck insurance policy, policyholders who opt for the Truck Warrior supplement are eligible for roadside assistance up to three times a year. year.

This includes towing cargo vehicles of up to 7.5 tons for round trips up to 100 km, provided by Allianz’s fleet of dedicated trailers. The extension also includes on-site repair service for incidents, as well as a flood relief grant of up to RM5,000 per flood event.

The company says that the RM120 per vehicle extension is more than it pays for itself, should the unexpected happen. “The cost of an incident is not cheap. If you do not have such insurance support, towing will cost an average of RM450 to RM900, which the customer will have to pay out of pocket. For minor roadside repairs, aside from parts, labor can be around RM400,” said Allianz General’s deputy sales manager, Sazali Abdul Rahman.

The idea behind the Truck Warrior service is to provide cost savings to commercial operators in the event of vehicle breakdown. “In terms of coverage, motorcycle insurance is usually the same, no matter which company you buy the policy from. Allianz has come up with something that sets us apart, which is a service you can’t get from others,” he explains.

“We are the first insurance company in Malaysia to develop such a service, not just for aesthetic purposes. We believe this will really help insured vehicle owners in the event of breakdowns and minor roadside repairs,” he added.

To be eligible for Truck Warrior coverage, a covered cargo vehicle must meet the following criteria – it must hold an ‘A’ and ‘C’ license with comprehensive, gross tonnage coverage. the total vehicle weight (BDM) amounted to 7.5 tons, and the truck should not be more than 20 years old, Sazali explained.

At the heart of the Truck Warrior service is the company’s fleet of 80 tractors, of which 50 are located in Peninsular Malaysia and 30 in East Malaysia. These include specially equipped Scania P380s with heavy duty winches and truck mounted cranes, with lifting capacities ranging from 8.5 tons to 10 tons, depending on the vehicle. Each truck is driven by two employees, one driver and one operator.

While 80 tractors for the whole country doesn’t sound like much, Sazali said the company is very confident that the number of trucks is more than enough to provide coverage based on the portfolio it has, co. time asserts that not every incident necessitates a need for towing services.

“When someone calls to say there is an issue, we usually send our Bike Warrior motorcycles to that location first to find out what the problem is. The bikes have been proven to arrive on the scene very quickly and so they are very effective in determining the action required.

If it is said that it is a dead battery and can be replaced on site, we will replace the battery and therefore will not need a tow truck. I would say that there aren’t many (incidents) cases where a tractor will be needed,” he said, adding that if the fleet needs more vehicles, these vehicles will be added.

The motor units, of which 50 are stationed around the Klang Valley, not only act as the vanguard on an outbound call, they also provide an official Allianz presence if any which opportunity group or caller appears.

According to Sazali, although it’s only been out for a few months (it was launched in January), the response to this add-on has been overwhelmingly positive. “Since it was introduced, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. The numbers right now are very encouraging – we can see very good traction in attachment rates with extensions,” he said, adding that a more complete picture of children Numbers and percentages will form when the six-month mark is reached.

Unsurprisingly, the company says that it has also seen an increase in policy coverage since it started offering the extension. “This is because there are no other services out there. “It’s a bold move by an insurance company to have roadside towing assistance at this level,” he said.

Sazali reiterated his view that Allianz continues to differentiate himself from others through Truck Warrior. “It’s quite common when you’re talking about motorcycle insurance, personal car or motorbike insurance, and now vans, you can buy it anywhere. Really no difference, can save cost of insurance.

On the other hand, coverage is more or less standard, but what sets it apart, such as company A or company B, is the service, not only in terms of claims and how quickly and efficiently themselves, but also in the level of service they provide, and through unique value-added propositions like these. These are the things that we put in to make sure we are different,” he said.

Collectively, in less than a year, the Truck Warrior program has completed the extensive portfolio of additional insurance products offered by Allianz – it now includes cars, motorcycles and trucks. comprehensive product.
